The Trip to Remember was designed to present a unique endurance challenge to Athletes of different levels. Starting in Dublin, the route takes participants 150 miles by bike, boat and boot down the beautiful Irish Coast, across the temperamental Irish Sea and through the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National park until, eventually, they reach Snowdon’s summit.
The first event was held over the 9th and 10th of July 2011 when a team of 14 managed to complete the challenging route in 33 hours and 17 minutes. The group, which included world class endurance athletes as well as amateur adventurers, started out as strangers but quickly bonded to become a team capable of spectacular accomplishment.
The Trip to Remember is organised in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity that is dedicated to supporting people who are affected by all forms of dementia and funding research into a prevention and cure.
